What's your battle?

As I was reading the Book of Mormon last week I found this verse that got me thinking.

First, some context:
Zeniff was taking a group from Zarahemla to the land of Lehi-Nephi and the Lamamite King lets them have the land. But it was a trap and King Laman just wanted them as slaves to work the land for them. Wars and contentions began to break out but Zeniff's people armed themselves with bows and arrows, swords and the strength of the Lord. Zeniff asked the Lord to deliver them out of the hands of their enemies and God did hear and answer their prayers.

Although our battles aren't a war against the Lamanites do we have the strength of the Lord as we fight our daily challenges?

Your battle could be an illness (physical and/or mental), it could be a tough class or an assignment, a financial problem, it could be exercising and keeping healthy, a job (or lack there of), cleaning your house, making dinner, remembering to drink enough water...

You get the picture. Basically your battle could be anything. And whatever your battle is, the Lord will deliver you if you remember to ask for help and go forth with the strength of the Lord.

  1. Thank you for this beautiful post. I have read it several times as I pop in, watching and waiting for another. Recently, this scripture really struck me. I deal with panic attack and anxiety disorder and it is ALWAYS more infectious during the snowfall months. With much prayer I have come to the conclusion that medical intervention is not the path that Heavenly Father wants me to take to work through this trial, but to rely on prayer and my scriptures. This particular scripture you shared sums up beautifully a series of scriptures that I have placed in a sacred order for myself, I would like to share it with you.

“Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.”
    Joshua 1:9

“But take diligent heed to do the commandment and the law, which Moses the servant of the LORD charged you…to love (me), the LORD your God, and to walk in all (my) ways, and to keep (my) commandments, and to cleave unto (me), and to serve (me) with all your heart and with all your soul.”
    Joshua 22:5

“And if (you) come unto me I will show unto (you) (your) weakness. I give unto (you) weakness that (you) may be humble; for if (you) humble (yourself) before me, and have faith in me, then will I make weak things become strong unto (you).
    Ether 12:27

“I am with you always, even unto the end of the world.”
    Matthew 28:20

“In the strength of the Lord did (I) go forth…for I…did cry mightily to the Lord that he would deliver (me)… And God did hear (my) cries and did answer (my) prayers; and (I) did go forth in his might!”
    Mosiah 9: 17 & 18

Thank you for your posts, I can't wait for the next one!
